It is important that you have direct management over these listings, as these are the most clicked and viewed.  Managing these listing will not only create a more unified look for your business over the variety of platforms, but will also allow you to receive notifications when a customer has said something about your business and allows you to quickly respond, whether it is to a negative or positive comment.

By doing a quick search for your business on mobile devices and desktop computers you can see what directory and review pages appear on the first page of search results. After you have viewed these results, see if these directory pages are claimed yet. If not, claim them and make them as detailed and accurate as possible, as this will help to create a distinct and more helpful page for potential customers to view, and hopefully they will go with your business over a competitors.

Refine Keywords to Include Shorter versions of Words or Phrases to Optimize Potential Visits

With the creation of Google Instant Search and phone assistant programs like Siri and Now becoming available on more and more mobile devices today, it is important that businesses both small and large realize the potential effects that these options will have on how and when they appear in search results. Mobile device users are no longer typing out complete sentences to find things, instead they are typing in or saying one or two short keywords and with the help of the personal assistant programs, instant search and the phones GPS, results can be found for what they are looking for right away. Implementing these short keywords attached to local cities, streets, etc. will help your business appear in those search results pages and hopefully lead to more visits and in-store foot traffic.
